ZF Alpha Update #7
Zenith Frontier’s weekly alpha updates are back! To kick things off, we have reworked much of the core underlying engine and extended the procedural galaxy generation. Here’s a list of what shipped in today’s update:
Transitioning between the system and planet map modes. Right click on a planet and select view to enter the planet map mode, simply zoom out to return to the system map.
Updated planet renderer. Zenith Frontier now has capacity to generate and render a greater variety of planet types.
New menu user interface. Redesigned to better suit the game’s theme.
Planet designer tool. Work has begun on a planet designer tool which we plan to provide to alpha testers when possible so that your own creations can be used both to train the AI designer and be used as presets.
Planet procedural generation. The procedural generation engine is now capable of generating gas giants, gas dwarfs, terrestrial, and dwarf planets in the appropriate system locations.
Unknown systems. Systems that have been discovered but not explored are now displayed as UNKNOWN on the galaxy map.
Other developments: miscellaneous user experience improvements; local environment UI placeholder; fixed bug when entering sector map in some locations; updated HUD UI elements; improved system representation on the galaxy map.
We’re inviting players to join the alpha test every week. If you want to join the alpha then simply complete the form on our website.
